What i really wanted to know since Yamaha don't go over 1mm then is the 2mm reliable and who does top quality re-bores and crank rebuilds?
Have a chat with Hugh at BOSS Engineering Ph 06 348 9516 he has done a few oversize jobbies on VMX bikes without probs.
He also does re-sleeving back to original size as well as offering rebores, hones and crank rebuilds. But discuss it with him first and go with your best option.
I very nearly bought an RD400 as my first big bike after coming off my learners.Walked into the dealers with a deposit and me mum as the loan securer.Didnt take more than two steps into the doorway and clapped eyes on a freshly traded in RD250LC and the rest as they say is history. Now looking back I wish i'd gone away with the 400.![]()
Hi thanks for that i will ring him and i know how you feel except my dad would only secure the loan if i got the CB250 hahaha and i went straight to gsxr's after that all 8 of them from the 1985 upto my last one the K4 1000 but know im reliving my youth and i have 2 rd400s to rebuild and a Speed Triple tp ride![]()
Doubt there hasnt been much that hasnt been done to a RD 400 / 350 over the years.
I remembered this thread
http://www.saltmine.org.uk/dale/dale-faq.htm
