FS: KTM 125sx

Hey guys,

My first post, wasnt planning it on being a for sale post, but the time has come for me to get rid of it.

So anyways the details are as follows:

98 KTM 125 sx

5 hours on a fresh race rebuild (have receipts for $1500)

Bike goes bloody well, starts first time, hasnt been thrashed as I was only just learning how to ride it.

Its got a near new tyre on the rear and the front has plenty of tread left.

It has "unbreakable" clutch and brake levers

Aftermarket handle bars

Fresh gearbox oil

Aftermarket shock with adjustable damper

Not much left standard on the bike

It has been painted black (looks good in black)

I dont know too much more than this as im new to bikes, I would love to keep it but have other interests to pursue.

Genuine reason for selling, the bike has been looked over by a qualified bike mechanic and he gave it the OK.

Have been told a fair asking price would be $3800 but am open to offers/swaps.

^ Jeepers. Why do people let their bikes turn to shit like that (the '06 125) then try and sell it looking like it does?

Even the slightest scratch on my bikes annoy the shit out of me.

i don't think its possible to have fun on a dirtbike/motorcross bike if your to scared to get it scratched

I dont know what the bike is worth hence why I put offers on there. I just go from what people have told me. Have been told by 3-4 people that its worth $3500-3800 because of aftermarket parts and the full race rebuild with proof.

I am assuming you mean you do ride such places where your bike could get scratched but just get annoyed later if it does and go fix it and/or buy the necessary replacement parts which I'd suspect is on par with the rest of us. It's what I aim to do anyway. And obviously not what the person selling the 06 bike was doing.

Sadly, a bike isn't worth what people tell you it's worth, it's worth what people will actually pay for it.

Would have to agree with Jay a bike is only worth what some one is prepared to pay, bills for how much you've spent maintaining it will only help selling it.
You will never recoup what you've spent on it, a few tips when buying look at the bike & asking price deduct the costs of replacing any faults eg chain & sprocket, wheel bearings, brake pads, broken plastics, handle bars, levers, grips etc . And always look inside the airbox if it's filthy chances are the bike has been poorly maintained with engine issues to arise latter.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I have never stated that the bike is worth $3800, just simply said I have been told it is worth that amount as I dont know anything about bikes, right next to that I clearly put that I am open to offers.

If you were genuinely interested you could make me an offer, you may just be surprised how much i'm willing to let it go for.
