make sure if it is a brand new pit bike he breaks it in before thrashing it.

Have a chat to Botany Honda (http://www.botanyhonda.co.nz/) in Trugood Drive.

They organise rides and attend rides, I think there's something out at Ardmore? They can also supply some appropriate protection gear.

its actually harder then you think to hurt yourself on a pitbike.. you definatley dont need boots, you'd find it hard to change gears with them. i used to just ride with steel cap boots a helmet gloves jeans and a t shirt.

ive had two pit bikes... motorcross boots are hard to ride pit bikes with because they go half way up your legs, and because pitbikes are small your knees are much further foward then your feet making it hard to switch up through the gears..
im not saying its impossible but it is harder especially if your a learner.

Harrisville has a mini track that he can ride, open every Sat except for race weekends, but they now have a pit bike class for racing, so he could race them too

I wouldn't recommend taking a pit bike to wood hill as the air filter is very exposed!

You also have Dome valley as posted above, Kimmy's would be a little to extreme for a pit bike.
If a man is walking in a forest and no women is there to hear him is he still wrong?
