Realtime data straight to your helmet.

Seems interesting, I would give it a go. Too much of a distraction perhaps?

Nah, I dont' think a HUD would be distracting. Its all in how its used. Spend about the same time looking at it as your would a regular dash.

I have been following Recon for a while back when they just had snowboard goggles. I think they make great bits of kit.........but not cheap.......nor legal to only have HUD.
Which sucks on both counts - because I think this is the future of this kind of stuff.

yea I want this on my bike or even better on the track in a sidecar since ya cant see the gauges when ur in it. just an RPM/Tacho and a shift light and temp gauge would be mint in an HUD on the rd or track

Thats awesome, something I would look at if I had money to throw around. Good for the track because I'm now taking off the speedo and mount cause it just pisses me off.

    Cheers for the link.

It sucks that it wouldn't be legal, maybe sometime in the future? It would definitely be a lot easier to see what you are doing with out looking away from the road!

that ones rad, love it - shame it doesn't do temperature or it would be perfect for track use, if u could swap speed for temp.

Yea I was looking for the price too.

Hang 5, I'm going to ask the almighty Google.

Speaking of Google, Their 13th birthday is coming up next year which means that we have 1 more year of asking questions untill it turns into a teenager and refuses to answer any questions at all.

Heres a place that has it for $180 (probably american)

There seems to be two models, the MC1 and MC2. The only difference I can find is that the MC2 has an optional radar detector input

    Compass...

Does anyone know if a compass could be incorporated into the Recon model's display at all? Even if it was based on a heading determined by the last two waypoints?

    Very cool stuff here.

    EDIT: I found a discussion of alternative uses(NOT skiing/snowboarding) here: http://support.reconinstruments.com/...rcycle_helmets
