Not worried about the prices, both bikes are on TRademe and both are about 4 hours away.

Unquestionably the Honda, lower kms, better tyres, better paint, and in my opinion better styling.
Also that model CBR received high praise as being a highly refined bike before the focus and direction changed from road to track styling.

What type of riding are you likely to do? May answer your question on what you should buy.
Reactor Online. Sensors Online. Weapons Online. All Systems Nominal.
Quite simply, GSXR. Because it's a GSXR.
Nuff said.
Vote David Bain for MNZ president
oh yeah, the gixxer isn't even within 15% of reserve yet, so that puts the reserve at at least $4600, that's at least $400 still in your pocket to spend on other goodies.

Thanks for the input so far.
The GSXR600 is the more track oriented bike out of the 2, and if you like going around corners fast then the Suzuki is the best bike. I haven't ridden a CBR600, but I can tell you that the GSXR600 is pretty tame down low and also has little mid range, it needs to be revved out very hard before the power kicks in. It's quite similar to a 2 stroke how the power kicks in very suddenly at around 10,000rpm and that will take you to the 13,500rpm redline. It will also have enough power to make the front wheel very light in 2nd gear, and it makes for interesting high speed, full throttle corner exits on a bumpy road. It's a very fun bike indeed. It's not a good bike for around town, but it's a beast once you put it on a nice mountain road.
However, the Honda build quality is unquestionably better. The Suzuki is more likely to have small things go bad, such as rounded off chain tensioner lock nuts, rusty bolts, dodgy switches etc. The quality of the Suzuki engine and gearbox is very good, just the little things that let it down.
I wouldn't take either![]()
Sliver - what kind of riding do you plan on doing? Commuting to work around town? Long distance trips? Tight mountain roads?
Company car, so i only use it every now and then, i do different types of riding, Most over 100km roads
Then you'll have the most fun on a Japanese crotch rocket. Since you have a company car and aren't going to be riding every day, then you don't need a super comfortable touring style bike. I'm about 1.92m tall and don't find sports bikes too bad to ride.
Have a look at bikes similar to these:

All have over 100bhp, and they are a world above the more cruisy type of bikes you mentioned earlier. You'll get bored fairly quickly with the more sedate 600s. These fast 600s will keep you entertained for a long time, and very few road riders can actually ride one of these bikes to their full capability.
Cheers smoke,
Ive been looking at the r6s to,
Ive been told both those bikes are 110 hp as well
Dunno if this is true though.
