    You won't get much of a diesel van or ute let alone a 4wd for 4000 and a petrol 4wd will cost heaps to run

    I know this bloke who runs a motorcycle towing company if it's any help to ya

    But in all seriousness if the towing part is just for track days, consider buying a station wagon or sedan with a towbar and buy yourself a cheap trailer. There is a lot around for $2k in terms of cars and a pretty decent trailer could be had for the same. There is your $4K.

    $850 leaves you with a decent amount for a tow vehicle/daily runner
