    Shipping dilemma

    I'm in a bit of a pickle-

Im in the final stages of buying a 1992 XR600, however its in gisbourne, and shipping companies don't pass by there. In order for bike transporters to post this bike form giz to chch it has to be delivered to hastings. the truck leaves on tuesday if i remember right.

Basically, i have no idea on how to get it to hastings as the seller wants nothing to do with organising the shipping since the bike is grossly cheap.
I noticed a few people on here offer to ride bikes for people to places. is this possible? or any other ideas?

I don't think there are any active KBers in Gissy. And it's 2.5+ hours travelling from HB...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Hi D!ck in a pickle,
I can contact some of the Freedom Riders down there and see if anyone is keen to help you out. Can't promise anything though.

I'll be going back up to Gissy in Feb sometime. If you haven't sorted anything by then, I'll happily chuck it on the back of my ute and bring it back to Welly with me for you. Or drop it off in Hastings etc.

Hey mate, That sounds like a plan too. I'll see what comes up this evening, but dropping in welly would actually be ideal. i'll ring biketranz again and get a quote. do you know what date you'll be doing this?

Mainfreight requires a full fluid drain, brake fluid and all. i don't actually live in chch,i'm in ashburton so i will have to bus up and ride it back. its a possibility but it's not an ideal one.

They will but the cost to go out of their way to get there is huge. i ended up buying an xr400 from around the road, it will need certed to go on the road but it has a vin tag and most of the road gear so it shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks to everyone for your help though, I appreciate it all a lot.
