search CBR600 under motorcycles and you still get the property listing

That's because it's the only thing on TradeMe listed under CBR600, so it defaults to that single listing. As others have said, if you search for CBR 600 it will give better results.

Any search function is only as good as the info entered.

Uh, no. Searching up RGV250 and RGV 250 for example will give you two different lots of results, with certain listings coming up on one and vice versa.
