    Talking ST1300 transformed for $5.00

Ever since I bought my STeed at the end of last year, I've been annoyed by the screen. The noise and buffet at times is really annoying. The manual screen version on my ST has two settings -- up and down. Down suits me better than up, as it were...

Anyway, after following some of the threads on American ST owners' sites (truly odd people, folks. Approach with caution), today I made a $5.00 modification that has transformed the screen effects for the better. Two longer bolts and 10mm of plastic washers at the bottom of the screen, increasing its rake backwards by about 5-10 degrees. I am so stunned as to the difference I plan writing to Mr Honda asking why they don't build them like that to start with...

Romping along up the Hutt Valley motorway into a stiff norwester at about 120kmh with my visor up. Unbelievable!

Now all I have to do is score a couple of longer screws from Schrodoco so I can put the protective covers back on. I am stoked!

Odd because they're American, or odd because they own ST's... (just kidding)

Mr Honda will probably say "you must be giant, taller than 165cm"

Aint it great when a cheap simple fix works the best - this doesnt seem to work for me much though

Last time I saw Hitcher he was a bit taller than that.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Interesting that increasing the rake backwards reduced the turbulence.
