Kiwibike Insurance
0800 629 253 or www.kiwibike.co.nz
Noone? As in you've tried all of two companies, and none of them specialise in bike cover yeah?
If you actually cant get full cover you must have an impressive habit of smashing into things.
Most of the "normal" insurance companys wont touch bikes unless you have everything else with them. AA do bikes but suspect have home, contents and car is part of the condition.
Try the bike ins company's like swan, etc. I'm with classic cover based on me being a classic, not sure if they go down to 33 but give them a go and could also depend on the age of your VFR. There is a KB one too I believe and I know the likes of some of the bike groups like BRONZ have deals with companies that cover bikes.
They are out there so good luck
I got mine through protecta.co.nz and got a good rate. Check them out
NAC (Norther Auto Club) in Whangarei 0800 501-508. Been with them for about 8 years, have paid me out for the same bike 3 times (2 write-offs and one theft), and each year my premiums go down. Great bunch.
Only issue with not providing full insurance is the value of the vehicle, they won't provide full cover on anything under $3000. Great bunch, pretty friendly and I don't think they are too expensive either, 2 free roadside assistance calls etc
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing![]()

I've found them nothing but awesome.
Costs me $620 a year for comprehensive insurance on 4 bikes (up to $9k in value) and gear replacement up to $2.5k.
Insurance is for rich people
Hmmm I also wonder just what there is in your licence history that is making you so un-insurable???
But that aside (cos no-one is perfect eh?) most of the usual suspects have been named... check them out.
I also recommend Swan and Protecta and another one to consider is John Baker Insurance.
BTW hows this for a deal? $1000 per year for 3 bikes, total replacement value $46,000, $4Gs cover EACH for rider and pillion gear, roadside assistance, accomodation costs paid for if necessary and also something towards medical costs (can't remember what the figure is but its reasonable)bla bla bla etc...
oh yeah and the excess???
$500. It used to be $250 but last year they announced that it was going up cos it was too ridiculously low.
The insurance company is Harley Davidson Insurance Services, criterior is that you have to be an international member of HOG...so unfortunately no good to you, Ultrasonic2, but I thought I would mention it just in case any HOG members see this thread.
