    Okay Dudes, how does this sound so far......



    Meet and leave 7am at GULL Napier.

    Head SIKA lodge way and check out the ''Ancient Wall''

    Meet and say Hi to the Queen St Gravel Mob, on the way out, approx 9.30am.

    Head thru Taupo and check out the Pureora Forest.

    Head towards Taumarunui on as many backroads we can find.

    Do the 42nd Traverse from 'West' to 'East' if timely.
    (can someone out there pls post a link etc. for directions to the Traverse. Ta)

    Fossick around the Ruapehu Desert

    VISIT ARMY museum.

    Head home via Taihape Road...

    42 traverse

    The issue with doing the Traverse the way that you are proposing is that you will be going into any MTB traffic. Generally the MTBers come down from Kapoors Rd (the Chateaux side of National Park) & end at Owhango.

    Also, South to North is easier - you go down the only real hard bit.

    Hi Tony cant make next weekend gotta go out Friday and suspect i wont be in any fit state to ride a motorcycle saturday.

    MAYBE SUNDAY ? plan b

    Seems the 42nd is not negotiable after or during heavy rain.

    PLUS, forecast for Saturday,at this stage, is for heavy NI rain.

    We could be looking at a SUNDAY start instead.
    Forecast FINE (at this stage)
