My bad. Just checked and see you are right. I guess I had my rose tinted glasses on when reading the results in the back of Crosby's book and counted his UK 500 championship wins.

Lol. I think most Kiwis would pay extra tax to have all record of his time in NZ deleted. His unpopularity here says a lot considering our usual reluctance to allow Arsetrailer to take credit for things Kiwi

I heard the other day that NZ had 27 world championships, but I can't get there from my (foggy) memory.

    Ivan Mauger - 6

    Hugh Anderson - 4

    Barry Briggs - 4

Stefan Merriman (yes, he is a Kiwi, and I used to see him riding here as a kid with his dad Warwick) - 4

    Graeme Crosby (F1) - 2

    Katherine Prumm - 2

    Shayne King - 1.

    So only 7 world champions.

    Ronnie Moore - 1

Ivan also had long track world championchips. A combined total of 15

    Not to forget
Ben Townley MX2 World champion 2004 and,
Tony CooksleyWorld veterans' motocross champion in 2007

    Makes 10 then.

If Conquiztadors post (#22) is right and arsetrailer only has 13 then NZ has way more world champions per capita than them. Approx 3 times as many.

Anyone able to confirm our neighbour's stats?
