    Thumbs up Buell bump

Hi guys have posted a wanted add for a 2008+ Uly.
Anyone in the know of any for sale. The black one on TM is a 2006 regod in 08. 08 on had the slightly better turning circle and the old man softy hot grips.
Had an XB a couple of years back and sold it and now missing the crazy strange beast. cant ride the XR650R grin machine with the cheerful clingon on the back. Dont think I will ever own another 4 cylinder they just dont gel for me.
Hope the guy who parked his xb in the tree makes it.
    Cheers

I spent a lot of time on various releases. Owned an '06 for 5 years.

The turning circle and grips are non-issues for mine. Lean it over more - and fit some aftermarket grips. Job done.

The lack of TPS resets required in the later ones is the biggest plus.

The tall seat on the 06 made it my favourite though. Best bike I've owned.

    Happy huntin'.

Why did they require the tps resets and how often.
I certainly miss that front wheel lifting under throttle and the superb handling. I have been riding for 30 years and the uly was the most comfortable bike for long hauls I have ridden and fun too. I am certainly no accomplished rider, just a general leave the chicken strips to the proffesionals type of guy. I had a minor bingle in road works gravel where I got it wrong the height of the 06 and the lack of turn radius assisted me to have a slow off. Bike was fine but holden panel steel is weaker than abs plastic lol.

I've twice dumped a Buell on t'ground failing to turn inside another bike parking. I've damn near done it completely unassisted, having last ridden the dirt bike. A couple of extra degrees steerage helps us unco dudes, y'know?

Mine needed a Throttle Position Sensor reset a few times (maybe 3) outside regular service intervals in the time I owned it.
There was no real rhyme or reason - sometimes it just went screwy and ran rough. 5 minutes on the machine at AMPS and all good.

They changed it in 08 (from memory) and they (TPS) were no longer required.

Bummer about the steel - steering only inconvenienced me once in all the time I owned it - and that was when bailing on a single track that was muddier than the tyres could handle. Then I just manhandled it.

Well, most of the time you get to use it's momentum, sort of Judo it into shape, but when you're actually dead in the water you've gota deal with the fuckup yourself. And I'm getting too old for that shit on a full blown roadbike.

    Oh, it gets better.....

....while in Wisconson the other week, I took the time to travel out to East Troy and was lucky enought
to meet and spend a brilliant 1/2 hour with Erik.

    Mastercard can't beat that.

Yes full kit panniers and top box.

Just out of interest has anyone purchased long distance and had a successful transaction. I just want to be sure I could transfer the money and be sure the bike came up via biketrans. Yes I know I should go get it but it would be handy at the moment to just have it delivered to home. The owner sounds absolutely legit, but then some people can be great actors.

Well a mate of mine recently forked out us$8500 to a firm in Santa Fe for a 10 Uly: from here in Reporoa, and instructed it be delivered to Chicago. I was there when he collected it and it was 100% as promised!

Cant say if this will always happen tho!!

Good luck with your new bike.
