The lady in Comms was awesome, so calm and collected!!!

    Big ups to you all.

    Thanks for being there.

    Ciao.
Gonna collect some revenue from bikers tomorrow in Churchur. Then I'll offer them the option to do some training, and if they do it, I'll cancel the ticket.

Yeah, tax collecting I will go. Never let the facts stand in the way of a good old fashioned bleat.

I think awareness of the necessity of refuting the 'tax collector' accusation is quite widespread amongst the constabulary now.

I got ticketed for 71 in a temporary 50 yesterday, heading north over that bridge on SH1 near Atiamuri that's been a 'temporary 50k zone' for years on account of structural issues.

The cop explained, without being asked, that the roadworks to fix it up have finally started and they've been asked to hang around the bridge and enforce that limit for a while because everyone's gotten used to ignoring it there.

    Couldn't really argue with that.

(I didn't think that "I'm in a hurry to get to Auckland on time for the start of the Roger Waters concert" was likely to help my cause, so I didn't mention it. The concert was brilliant, though.)

I was planning on taking the bike out for a ride tomorrow. I guess I'll leave it locked up in the garage instead.

But you get a cool uniform - the missus will love it, and if she doesnt, you get handcuffs too, so it doesnt really matter if she wants it or not

Reckon the poppo should be embarrassed about tax collecting in that situation although it is not their fault. The 50 k has been there so long with seemingly no good reason, now the poppo are enforcing it making it look like they are using it as trap to collect taxes, how does Joe Average motorist know that someone has decided to finally do something about fixing it so the 50k limit is becoming relevant. Realistic higher restrictions should have been used in the meantime and then the 50k could have been introduced with the work signs and people wouldn't think the poppo were just tax collecting.

Bit of a hobby horse because I go through a 60k light sign every work day that is Tried sticking to the limit and nearly got run over. It's a frigging light sign that can be changed for when, if ever, there is work going on, otherwise it is clear highway on which you could get drivers to accept 80k but no reason not to do 100k.

Good work on the Chch EQ To the boys and girls in blue. Tough having to deal with that and worry about your own families at the same time.

Is this trial of yours going to continue for some time or will you be shut down when powers/that/be find out ?
Could this trial spread to car drivers or all drivers in general around NZ ? I would like to think there is plenty of scope to teach the general/idiot/populus of NZ how to drive, what merge like a zip means or the simple right hand rule/change, roundabouts sheeesh

Not just the speeders though aye
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
