thats a shame, cause legally you were in the right. But then these legal scams & extortions rely on it being to "hard" & time consuming the systems setup in their favor cause the law is not & they gots moneys to make

    Bugger, thought youd ask that.

Have heard anywhere from $45 to $135. I actually don't know how they work it out, It appears to depend on the nature of the charge, the court etc. maybe someone here can specify.

Remember tho, get a ticket for not wearing your seatbelt, ka Ching, $150. Defend it and get found guilty, ka Ching, $150 plus costs.

If you get caught driving while pissed and insist on having a blood sample taken, remember that if your sample is over (and almost exclusively, if your breath was over your blood will be over), you'll be paying for the fallout of the doctor and the analysts fee too.

The analysts fee for a drug analysis like class c is $680. Imagine that, a lawbreaker actually having to pay the cost of being proved guilty.

They are going to build a new court in Christchurch. it's an earthquake thing. Court costs there are around $17 million.

Don't break the law in Christchurch.
