helmet horrors

Yesterday while going through national park the weather was shit to put it mildly and bugger me the helmet was dripping on the INSIDE of the visor!
How the hell do you stop that!!

Any of you RAT boys who read this the weekend in taumaranui was a blast!

Don't know how to stop it, but I had a similar thing happen near Springs Junction down south. It was very foggy and freezing cold and the visor iced up on the outside and misted up on the inside! I was a pillion on that trip and I felt really crook, almost like seasickness. Not being able to see and being too cold to open your visor was horrible.

if yo0ur helmet is a bit old, silicon cleaner can help soften up the rubber seals and seal better.

Otherwise, some of that silicon paste stuff they use for showers would work well...

For people who are heavy breathers..........

You could use rainX for the outside (bought from Repco about $10 - 15 bottle) I have used it myself for many years on the long trips and they also make one for anti-fogging. Only downside is you have to re-apply it after a couple of outings but only takes 5mins. (you gotta clean ya visor anyway.....)

If that's not ya cup a tea, splash out on a Fogcity insert. Had mine for at least 3 years and it hasn't let me down yet. (Let's me ride @ night on my blue irr lens

Grow your eye lashes realy long then rubberise them.
Instant fog wipers for the inside of your visor!

Silicone grease on the rubber visor seal helps to prevent the rubber from perishing and improves the seal.

Be warned - Rain-x destroys some visors. Try a bit near the hinge part of the visor and give it a day or two. If it goes milky, don't put it on the rest of your visor.

I just recemtly did a big trip through some pretty cold/foggy areas
Ive got a fog city visor on mine and its bloody fantastic. Visor never fogged up ,misted up or seemed to get wet inside even once.
I you dont know a fog city is an insert you stick to the inside of your existing visor

I've heard that even if there's no visible effects from rainX, it still weakens the visor.
