    eek 2004 cr 125 hard to start

    hi all out there in Internet world, new to this place, need a bit of help i brought an 04 cr 125 bout 4 months ago about an hour out of rebuild nipped the ring wasted up the barrel and piston had it repaired at NZ cylinders rebuilt the top end and broke it in ran mint started easy as up until i stalled it in a mud bog on sunday had to crash start it to get it going, got a new plug on the way home still took a few kicks, and then again today took about 5 or so kicks to get it to fire, its done 1.9 hours on the new piston, ring and plating. any help would be great

    what premix are you running,

    has it got a lot of black spooge coming out of the pipe?

    How deep was the Bog? You may have sucked some shit into the carb causing the starting issues, also check the carb drain tubes if they're blocked with crap the engine gets fuel starvation making it stall and hard to start.

    the plug was fouled up had been in the bike for a while, a little bit of spooge but not too much, running at 33:1 castrol racing 2stroke and 98, wasnt to deep, maybe just past the foot pegs, i will clean the carb out tomorrow and see how it goes

    Hi I would think clean carb, new fuel (if not new all ready) , clean airfilter and I would have thought 40:1 would be better for a 125
    If that does nt work recheck compression , I dont think it would take to much to have it running mint now you have done piston / barrel .
    Bring on the cambridge trail ride on staurday (hope the weather is ok )

    sorted cleaned the carb, bit of a mish the last owner butchered the heads on all i mean all the screws but got there in the end cleaned the jets out re assembled kicked it once, was a half assed kick and it was away roaring thanks for the help
