[QUOTE=ADVGD;1130433786]If you're going down that path I'd recommend MSR bottles over any overpriced Chinese imported Kathmandu shit. MSR (Mountain Search & Rescue) equipment is top notch, I have bashed my MSR bottles around for years riding and backpacking and they are strong as hell. The MSR also do three sizes including an 887ml

Like the durability not the price though. Nowhere to strap a 4 litre container on (had enough of one of those falling off the DR). Was thinking along the lines of a 2 liter plastic job strapped on to the rear guard. Maybe the coke bottle will have to do...

I bought two 1.2 litre alloy drink bottels today $5 each. Ive put gas in them and so far there good as. Will leave them for a week ride around with them and see what happens. Looked at some fuel bottels aswell but cant see any diffrence between them except the price. The drink bottel seals would be diffrent i spouse. But they could be changed. Only time will tell![]()

The aluminium water bottle tops (screw in type) usually degrade with fuel in them after a day or so, due being the wrong type of plastic for fuel storage. Make sure you check the plastic threads after a couple of days on those ali bottle tops before setting off on any trip. I tried that, and rooted the shitty bottle tops, but managed to get replacement MSR fuel specific cap to fit the bottle. A good fabricator could prolly turn up some nice aluminium threaded ones, add a fuel o-ring and you're sorted.
Either way, still a cheaper exercise than buying original MSR fuel bottle for $40 each.
Yea i thoght they might but its worth a shot.
Just lookig at some stuff i had lying around i have 2 brand new drz400 Clutch levers still in there packets. I will bring them with me so if anyone breaks a lever on the ride you know ive got a couple
