Not as dumb as my mate who put his bike in the shed, backed his boat in and chained them together. 6 a.m Saturday morning, half asleep and running late for the tide, guess what happened?![]()
Might as well have left it tied on. Would have made a betted anchor that bike by the time he worked out what he'd done.
If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.
Back in the day (before reminder cords) I got caught out. I'd gone to a mates house so put it on but what disrupted my memory was I knocked & he was out when he should have been in, so went back & just jumped back on without thinking about it. Broke the calliper.
The lock was pretty munty & was unlikely to break or get broken. The lock mechanism was pretty robust, but an earlier design with the barrel type keys which were more secure than a key. . . . until I saw the internet vid of how to make a key from an old biro.
I bought a bike & it had one on the frame but no key. Sure enough, found a biro & unlocked it inside a min.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Don't like disk locks, I use a chain and padlock... I leave the chained padlock up on the tank so I see it when I get on and don't forget to unlock it, right? ...wrong. Late evening, not thinking, get on see lock do not register it and ride off... didn't get very far![]()
