If you think that engine size has little to do with performance then ill race your 600 on a S1000R. It's only a measly 400cc bigger and to boot was made by germans. Should have nothing on the mighty SRAD
I would put money on smokeu and the 600.

Try riding a Harley 883 Sportster then an Aprilia RS250. The Harley should have more than 3 times the power, right?

within engine type. They may be both be twins but the Aprillia is a 2smoker. Apples and oranges.

And then harleys are in a separate category by themselves again.

go have a pootle on a SV1000. 200cc less then the sporty but pulls ya with only 5nm less then the harley.

Then a Ducati, with the same displacement as the tractor gives you almost 50nm more.

So harleys are in a category by themselves

    Maybe so.

I was talking to a Harley rider recently and he was telling me about this road that was just perfect for bikes, long and straight.

Tact is not my strong point, but I just took a pull on my beer and nodded as if I knew WTF he was talking about.

    Definitely different!

    Long and straight road......

Congrats on passing . If you do buy bigger don't go mad. And yes a 600 is heaps to be getting on with.

Keep safe and enjoy whatever you are riding, I mean I miss my Scorpio, a whole 225cc of reliable commuting machine that was still a lot of fun.

Gotta say when I rode them they seemed to handle ok. There not a twisty specialist bike but they go round turns well.

Not for max speed but I will be happy with one some time in the future.

Congrats, enjoy the extra freedom it brings .

As for > 600cc. I concur with SMOKEU. The apples vs oranges statement basically backs up his whole point. Cc's is not the only metric.

Congratulations on getting your full. So was your full licence test only a 20min test? I'm guessing you would have sat only a 20min restricted and with the new tests in place the full would have been 20mins added the reduced time with the defensive driving it would seem you had it pretty cruisy

I had the same. The old "easy" restricted, then for my full I had 15 minutes cruising around before he directed me back to the testing centre. I knew it was supposed to last almost an hour, so was busy thinking what did I do wrong? It was far too easy.
