    Hampton Downs Superbikes 17-18 March

With the forecast pretty much the same as today (warm & sunny) but with a little more wind cut a track to Hampton Downs and watch some spectacular racing and enjoy lots of off track entertainment.

Two full days of close competitive racing and plenty of things to do for the whole family means a good day out is assured.

Remember to bring a radio or the ear buds for your cell phone and tune in to 102.5 fm (track radio) for all the commentary.

I guess the main day is Sunday but Saturday has just as much going on.

    Saturday:-
Racing/practise/qualifying will start as soon after 9am as poss interspersed with various races and culmulating in a 1hr Hyosung 250GT race followed by a band in the pavilion.

    Sunday:-
We are straight into it after tyre scrub sessions.

Discounted tickets are available this evening only at the Barrys Piont road Dealer and Rider expo 5:30 - 7:30

Went out yesterday to watch the racing.

I thought it was a good day with the highlight being the first superbike race.
Don't get me wrong the rest of the racing was damn good, but watching 3 bikes going hard out was just stunning. The intenstity of the second sbk race was right up there with the uncertainty around the weather just adding to it. Not sure I would want to be making those decisions.

Downside was that I couldn't hear the commentary (and couldn't find an FM radio before leaving home) so dont know what happened to frost in race 1 and bugden in race 2. I'll need to buy a new freaking andriod phone b4 next year.

Enjoyed the rest of the racing and all classes having highlights and there was a lot of talent on show.

I hope that it was succesful for the organisers and the changes made have proven successful.

I attended this meeting the year before last but not last year - i think that while the weather may have had something to do with that, I didn't really enjoy the previous year - ended up getting bored with all the delays and left early. This certainly wasn't the case this time out. I was aware that you faced similiar challenges but it seemed to be dealt with efficiently.

    cheers
