Anyone seen this Hornet 250?

Just wondering about these bikes, looking for one for my brother possibly, i cant believe how wide the stock tyre is lol 180 on the rear. Good bikes? anyone viewed this one in particular? and are they full size or tiny like the CBR250's

Great bikes, but the 250 Bandit is better! especially since I have a 1996 22,000k one for sale! It has renthal bars on it to make the ride more fun and the VTEC head for a bit more top end power.

they are a larger bike for a 250. good bikes, worth a look if your mate is serious about getting on two wheels.
Havent seen that one in particular before, so do your due diligence

I'd personally rather have the Hornet as it's better quality, although I wouldn't pay as much as the auction is asking for an old 250. I had a mate who had a 250cc Bandit and the overall build quality was noticeably inferior to my older CBR250 which I had at the time.

Haven't seen that specific one. I think the single bar end mirror is a bit ridiculous for a learner, making it harder than it needs to be.

Generally, the hornets are reliable little bikes, a mate has one with over 100k on the clock and it keeps ticking along. They are a large learners bike, definitely, using the same frame as the 600 I believe.

Even though someone has clearly spent a lot of time and money on that bike, if you pay the asking price you'll never get that money back again. The 250cc market is going to drop out when the LAMS stuff comes into effect so I wouldn't pay more than $3,500 for a 250 unless it's an RS250. About 4 months ago I sold a tidy MC19 CBR250 with new Pirelli tyres for $3200 and that bike was very tidy so that should give you some sort of indication of the value of the 4 stroke 250cc market.

Hornet knows how to drink a lot but it's a very capable learner's bike IMO.

agree unless its a 2 year old 250 thats worth 7-8k new and selling at 5-6k then idd say 3k + or - 500 is the best budget to shop with

Hes done a nice job of making it look good but it does seem to be selling for bike shop prices or even higher.

If you're patient and can wait for the LAMS program, prices will drop for sure. I paid $5500 for my lil'ol'hornet 5 years ago and it's still serving me excellently. If your brother is keen to get riding, then it's a nice example of a lil'ol'hornet.

Tiny. If you're a big fella (especially if you're tall), forget it. The Hornet and Bandit 250 bikes are tiny little things...
