KTM 690 - watch out for trapped wire under grab handles

Got my G-it rear rack today so took the rear grab handles off to fit it. Something wasn't right with the right rear spacer. Some rubber or something stopping the spacer sitting properly. So I dug it out and it turned out to be insulation from the wiring harness that I had trapped under the handle the last time I took it off and re-fitted it. Doh! Ironically there is a note in the G-it install instructions that says to watch out for this very problem.

Thanks...not sure if I have seen that one. If its to do with the rear rack...I'm presuming that its for the rear lights? - did you get a photo?

    Thx
...back in the saddle, and getting a little!

Yes, it is for the rear lights. Sorry I didn't get a photo. Thought about it after but it was too hard getting the rack on so I'm not about to take it off again. The problem is that there is zero clearance for the wiring past the rear right mount. So if you don't push the wires as far out of the way as possible you WILL pinch them. After I patched up my wiring I had a hell of a job getting everything to fit because the new insulation made the wiring a bit thicker than standard. If I ever take it apart again I think I'll cut away some of the plastic bodywork to give more clearance.
