    eek Lowered handrails

    Folks,

I have a Kawasaki Ninja 650R 2008 and I am keen on getting a lowered handrail for a lesser air resistance and more fun. I am after something good but not very expensive.

Any suggestions what to look for and/or where to go?

    Cheers.

    Handrail=handlebars?
Depends what you mean by not very expensive...
Here are a few options http://www.motospecialties.com/store...pe1=Handlebars
The "sport bars" are very popular but expensive.
I have the low bend version of these http://www.maxmcdirect.com/products.asp?cat=17 .
SV650 clipons have been used also but they arent "plug&play"
Whatever you do you wont get a "proper sports bike" body position .

Take the staircase off your motorcycle, that will lessen the air resistance.

Flatter bars will be available at most motorcycle shops. Just check that you can return it if the new bar interferes with the fairing ...

Keep in mind changing your "handrails" will change the feel of the bike drastically.
You have to take into account not only height, but width, diameter, curvature etc. If they are lower than stock, they will be pretty easy to fit, but going from bars to clipons probably requires a bit of work.

    handlebar

Yeah, I meant handlebar. Excuse my French I am after something that makes me feel more on a sports bike not a cruiser

It does not have to be highly race-compatible but at least it would allow me to bend a bit further than sitting straight and enjoy the curves a bit more.

Even with just lower bars the banjo bolt will probably need moving and the alot of bars will give issues with steering lock at the fairing and/or the tank. I get about 98% lock with the bars im using. There is plenty of really good info out there on specific ninja650 forums.

Another thing to consider is re using the stock bar ends, you may have to jimmy something up yourself. You wanna keep them on as they are nice and heavy and the vibration is really bad without them. DAMHIK

I was after something that would cost me under $200, not $20,000 But thanks for the hint.
