    Bikers' weekend

Geez what a great weekend! The Missus, Daughter and I went to the Whangamata Beach Hop on Saturday. Never been before. The town was chocka block with Muscle cars, people in rock n roll gear, a bunch of bikes and no stupidity. Everyone behaved themselves and there were some primo rides(cars and bikes) there.

Then we shot across to the Balloon Festival in the Tron. Never been there either. More than 80,000 people there, all having a great time. My 3 year old was loving it and she has finally started to enjoy fireworks. Once again, everyone was well behaved except one dick DRIVING a little too fast along an unlit road with people and kids walking on it because of no footpaths.

Sunday was Bikes, Blues and BBQs at Fort Takapuna on the Shore. More nice rides on display, some mellow music to just sit back and enjoy listening to, some good food and sun as well. Once again, no dickheads to spoil it.

obviously some folks have good taste.
A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.
Sometimes , The struggle kills the dream.

I'm sure the wife and I noticed you. She was pleased to see a Lady riding. She used to ride a 955. Is ours the custom painted one in colours similar to the picture in your post?

There may have been a drop in bikes because police were checking bikes and stickering them

Saw a late-ish Trumpy Thunderbird with neons at the Beach Hop, it and another seemed to be around a lot of the weekend.

Never saw any bikes being stopped at all and didn't notice any big drop in numbers of them at the Beach Hop (in fact there was a slight increase due to two cop bikes being present) - maybe the stop-and-check is a Ch-ch only thing?

In any event, why would they be 'stickering, them?

I rode my rigid shovel up from wgtn and the only thing I saw pink stickered was an old ford galaxie with cali plates (no reg,no wof) on the friday, I talked to the two bike cops and they where more interested in hammering the boy racers + didn't notice my bike had no indicators. We had to leave sat morning to get to ackland for the speedway and the scrougers hot rod blowout. That wasn't you buellbabe in the carpark at the bottle store by the roundabout?.

    yep that was moi!

re-bikes being stopped and checked???news to me...

We heard that there were checkpoints around for drink-driving/riding but that didn't bother us cos all our drinking was done once the bikes were safely locked away back where we were staying...thats when the serious partying commenced.

FYI, on the Friday nite 'pinkhog girl' and I got dropped "home" by a very nice policeman and we were wondering how we could top that for saturday night...
Well, saturday nite after 'cocktail' hour at a friends place we were on our way back to the base to join the rest of the crew and decided to hitch... we had barely stuck our thumbs out and we got picked up by the luverly Rick in his hot truck.

    People are so friendly! |LOL
