pre 95 jap sports bikes (MC22 CBR250RR, ZXR250C) have enough power, if he wants more suggest a 2 stroker before the laws change, at least that way he is legal and less likely to kill himself

ZOMG he is a crazy fool and you are awesome for being really mature and sensible

he will die, of death, and you will secretly enjoy the little shiver of delight that will run down your spine as you contemplate the tragedy of his hubris

    you should tell him so

and then you should go for a mature and sensible ride on your Hyosung

Yep. Apart from that last bit...

Not every law is a good one, but smaller, lower-powered bikes for learners is a sensible law. Tell him if he doesn't want a 'gay' 250 to wait until LAMS comes in (Sept - Oct this year) then his choices increase big time.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

If he gets the Blade, tell your flattie that I can do him a really good deal on a plot in Central Auckland Cemetary. It does overlook the city and and is in a very trendy neighbourhood.

Nah that can't be it, the hyobag wouldn't fair any better against a CBR250 either

what do you guys recon? is this a bad idea, to learn to ride on a 1000? he's put up a good point, that he will get used to it, having had nothing else to compare it to.
He'll pay $10k for it, he'll be terrified the first time he opens it up in second or third, if he doesnt kill himself, he'll sell it cheap: you'll be able to straight swap the Hyo plus two grand cash in a burger bag (protip: eat the burger first) and everybody's happy. ten large seems cheap for an 09 Blade though.

Tell him 09 ZX10 goes faster.

If not, I know where there is a cheap going Cessna 207 if he can put the motor back in it him self

"Johnny", is all show. He'll never actually ride the bike but it will be kept in pristine condition as will his matching riding gear.

However, you may get to ride it to places (albeit early in the morning) where he'll get you to position it strategically so he can pose for all the girls. You may "get laid by association" so stick around.

All you can do is tell him he is stupid. You can't stop him buying it.

I know someone who hasn't owned anything under 1000cc and he is still alive.

Just hope he is smart enough to ask advice on riding if he does get a litre bike.

If he really wants a litre bike, he could always get a Harley. Much more sensible in my humble opinion. And good for posing on too.
