Once the vehicle has turned right on to Kaiwharawhara Rd, they are proceeding straight ahead, you are turning left, they are on your right.

Okay, I've got one.. What happens when there's no green arrow, but road is clear ahead, so clear to turn right, into a street with two lanes, with cars also turning left into the same street. Do the new give way rules apply when the road being turned into is double laned, so a lane for left turning traffic and a lane for right turning traffic?

You each turn into the lane closest to you, so nobody gives way, well, that is the theory, be careful doing that in Hawkes Bay though, cos drivers here turn into whatever lane they choose.

Cheers for that answer, I thought I was right, but people seem to be too nervous to do anything remotely close to taking the initiative at Give Way signs.. Infuriating.
This is in Auckland's CBD, so you get plonkers who think they get to pick whichever lane they want, so I always take care through there, even if I'm in the right..

It appears not, but I suspect that there will be one there very soon...

+1. Same thing round here - try for your own lane at your peril...

Yeah, just an ambiguous dotted line. There will be lots of intersections around the country like that which will require some signage to prevent confusion. In the meantime bikers would be best to ride defensively, as there's always a few nutters out there who will force right-of-way, regardless of consequences.

If you're on a bike you should always take care, even if you are in the right. After all, being in the right doesn't make that much difference to the SUV that's sitting on top of you.

A car is bigger than you.
Ergo, it can hurt you bad

Bigger than you = right of way

Thst's a worry. Even more dim shits around than I thought.
I'd love to think it was just an Auckland thing but it'd probably be safer not to...
