Public execution should be brought back for the thieves!
There are lot of cheap (under $200) GPS tracking options available on trademe. Ive got one on my classic mini. works like a charm.
you can track where your car / bike is anytime anywhere and even remotly turn the ignition off. (when stationary or while moving on motorway at 100km, is up to you)

It would only be a problem for extended periods of time, but a proper tracker would be far easier.

As my sexy Biatch nodrog has stated, you can hook them up to a charger!...or even better hard wire them to the battery if its a permanent fixture (with the correct resistance etc)
...the phone dosn't have to be turned on! (the software can contact the phone even when its turned off and turn it and the GPS on for you)

Its cheap & effective GPS tracking, but as sil3nt stated, you can invest in a proper water proof GPS tracking unit for under $200...a great investment for peice of mind...and for tracking down that piece of shit that stole your baby

i think its got to be one of our neighbours, given the frequency i park there and the triumph going missing. ramset on the corner have security cameras but only covering their carparks so said it wouldn't have picked anything up.

Any update on your bike?

sounds like there is a bit of an operation on the go. someones pinching rare-ish/expensive/exotic bikes.. I wonder if they are being loaded onto containers and headin out of the country?

Jeez. Sorry about the loss. Clearly you guys don't chain your bikes or lock up. No wonder everyone looked at me funny when I chained the scooter on The Terrace wile on training. Back in SA I used to put a padlock through R1. Did not trust mall security there. Being an island what do they do here? Strip it for parts? No borders to cross to sell it.

They are either ridden or sold for parts. I highly doubt anything leaves the country.

Who knows. Datatag etc don't seem to be used here. Crims could just break it for parts then flog bit by bit on ebay a year or two down the line. Easy money.

What I do know is that I wouldn't leave a tricked up Ducati parked up in a quiet spot overnight without it being alarmed, physically attached to something immovable and in view of a security camera........actually...fuckit...no...I just wouldn't leave a Ducati parked up in a quiet spot overnight.

Without risking a Katman like response......a bit of common bloody sense goes a long way. Shit like this bumps up everyones insurance premiums.
