Have you seen Phil Turnbull for any suggestions on your bars?

First port of call actuallyThey suggested a couple of options - make your own or the wreckers and I rang this morning and they do Ventura bars for fiddy quid and have a catalougue.
Am getting quite keen to do this as it would seem to have worked well in the past for others GN's

Hey Storm,
I thought about doing this too, because I had a sit on someone else's GN and they'd replaced the bars with straighter ones than the models' own, and it was WAY more comfy. I get a sore shoulder when I"m battling the wind and motorway traffic - you? (even though you're in PN...)
Let me know how it goes and whether it improves your perception of your stability etc. - I've subscribed to this thread to keep an eye on it.

Guys N gals--My experience with GN's has involved couriering on em and having a partner tour NZ on one
Heres what we did.
1)fitted a set of bars with a 75mm rise and a flatter (less chopperish) profile.
2) changed the fork oil to a heavier weight
3) fitted a handlebar fairing off of a suzuki GS450s
4) fitted a set of shocks off of a gsx400 -Konis
5) fitted the headlight complete off of a yamaha rd250lc -halogen
We put all the standard stuff in boxes and just transfered it from bike to bike then eventiually it got used on various projects of mine.
The improvement in rider comfort the handlebars and the fairing made were huge

Actually... The bars we stuck on Jaz's bike were and old set that were going to go onto the trumpy. Looked slicker than than an ameoba in a vasoline factory fire.
You want an A10 bend (BSA A10). I have some old ones here you can have that are similar. Bit spotty in places!
BE WARNED! The std GN bars have lead in the ends to dampen the vibes!
Hey! I'll get in a couple of sets and we can have a GN athon at my placeOriginally Posted by Eurygnomes

When do you have in mind? Since I'm leaving soon (6 weeks on Monday) I'm very keen to make the adjustments, but also am wary of weekends rapidly filling up!
Set a date...tell us what to bring (can't fit a crate on bike - but could bring a six-pack) and I'll be there!

Let me look in the garage tonight/tomorrow to see what's there and you can come up and we can do it any time that suits. Takes about 20mins if no real problems.Originally Posted by Eurygnomes
I have a couple of old sets there (free) but they might be a bit grotty for a new bike. (no seriously) Happy to let you try em though OR I can meet you at a bike shop and we can get some new ones? They are usually about $40
Ditto. Do you guys have a time sorted as yet? Would be keen to see if these bars of Pauls are indeed slicker'n a politician in election yearOriginally Posted by Eurygnomes
