It creates an energy - but if no-one or no thing (with audible
senses) are there to hear it - then it hasn't made a noise or
a sound (sound is something that is heard)

What if a deaf person was there? did it make a noise?

Well thats my opinion - . Is there a right
answer to that question Hitcher???

of course it makes an impact or else it wouldnt be fallen and if it makes an impact it must of lost some Ep which must of gone gomewhere, cant of all gone to heat or a fire would of started so some must of been sound.

ummm isnt it a vibration of the air in waves!?!

sound "is an alternation in pressure, particle displacement, or particle velocity propagated in an elastic material" (Olson 1957) or series of mechanical compressions and rarefactions or longitudinal waves that successively propagate through media that are at least a little compressible (solid, liquid or gas but not vacuum).

Isn't 'noise' the result of airwave vibrations interacting with our ear drums - therefore if they was nothing to interpret the vibrations in the air - wouldn't all you would have is vibrations in the air (not noise)???

If a tree falls and no one is there to hear it, then I would invoice the land owners for the felling and expect to get full rates for the lumber minus skidding and trucking costs.

Does a falling tree make a sound, yeah in my world they do, its cha ching!
