I've been buying literally whole vintage motocross bikes bit by bit via ebay and the usps service over the last couple of years. Bikes can't leave the US with clear title, but they can be pulled apart and shipped as parts.

So I take that same thing applies in NZ? And I can see the issue; someone sells a front guard, a carbi, a wheel. Nobody is gonna ask where the bits came from. A whole motor or a frame with numbers perhaps, but if the motor/frame is split in to bits... We are fucked!

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I'm lead to believe the police do actually have some pics of these cunts...and maybe prints too. But the prints are obviously only any good to them if they already have a record. I'll be doing my best to see if I can possibly get said pics. I'll be sure to share them.

This really sucks with all these other bikes getting stolen too. My insurance will be paying out hopefully next week, but it is no way a consolation to having my bike stolen. Makes me question why we work hard to buy nice things when shit like this happens.

That fuckin shite... the guys next door to us had their car broken into a few weeks ago and a couple of days ago 3 doors down had one of their cars stolen. Seems to be lots of nibble fingered bastards around, I hope the property gets returned and the bastards injure themselves trying to run a
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

One of my mate got his car stolen this way from securely locked apartment garage where you need a passcode to entre.
    - theif sees nice car (bike) goes in.
    - gate closes.
    - another car goes in. As the gate opens he walks in with the car.
    - takes his/her time to break in & start the car.
    - took chance and wait until gate gets opened again by others (with the code) who's using the park.
    - drove out

What I'm trying to say is that the shared car park is only secure when its locked and stays that way, as soon as the gate opens for whatever reason its pretty much open to public..

I can assure you that's nothing like what happened in this instance.

Sounds like it's worth while putting one of those gps locator things on now if you own a desirable bike. Are they easily hidden & difficult to disconnect or bit of a have?
