Where the feck did that go!

Interesting ride in this morning, shite visibility, cars switching lanes without indicating (well done the chap on the bike in front of me), soggy bollocks (ahhhh now my gear has been tested) and I really didn't think that was awkward enough, so I figured to make things interesting that I'd call on the great biker gods to have a footpeg fall off half way down Nowronga gorge. The cheeky scamps thought it'd be fun to do whilst going for the back brake, or before, not really sure when it disappeared, but it gave me a wee shock as I wibbled in the traffic for a second or two. I don't fancy my chances of getting it back? Anyhoo, that's gonna leave me with an interesting journey home.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a temporary fix?
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

Does your bike have pillion pegs?
For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.

oh I lost my left side one once but was able to use the pillions peg instead to get he bike home. Not pleasant and I adjusted my travel times to avoid as much traffic as possible but of course Murphy had to have his fun. I don't think you will have that option.

What have you to work with. Paul's long bolt suggestion with a nut and washer each side of the bracket sounds good if you have a through and through hole to work with.

Place foot in your hole until you get replacement.

    Well that sucks dude !

Anyone in newlands feel like a run down the hill and back ?
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Ahh...the old "Commuting on a big Italian Twin while it disintegrates around you" syndrome....
    I know it well.

Washing the Guzzi just this last weekend, noticed both front bolts were missing from the rear footpeg/muffler brackets....and both rear ones loose....go figure....

Got any idea where the peg is? I can look up Newlands Road on the way home if that's your way to work.

Thanks for the timely reminder to check the tightness of everything that's screwed on or bolted in the bike before a ride.

Just in case anyone is heading that way, 'orrid day for it, it was splitting between the middle and right lanes and noticed it just as turning left out of sight of the speed camera on the Nauranga Gorge. Fecked if I know where it will end up, but may end up heading out in the car tonight. Tis a roond silver cylinder . Beer is offered as a reward ... Check yer nuts folks...

Will probably ride home with it in it's current state and train it in tomorrow TFIT as the bolt won't come out for sizing dur to the swinger in the way. Probably just as well or the brake woulda been dangling etc...

Put a pillion peg on the front Mashy, I had to do that with my VT250 spada, got a nice jolt of sciatica just as I was hoping off and dropped it on my leg

noooooooo... I added aftermarket bits and still have them at home, luckily, but it's a PITA as I have to reassemble the stock brake setup. It's a silver cylinder, with bolt hole through the center, bit like a wee dildo ribbed for her pleasure.

that's almost as bad as trying to reach the rear pegs. No other option but to let it dangle
