Registration and WOF display with tail tidies

Hi All

So I have just purchased a new bike. It has had a tail tidy and has the Registration sticker double sided taped to the underside of the tail This is not to bad you see it easily when you look under it. But the WOF tag is tucked in flush with the tail behind the plate.

My Question is what is the deal with parking it on the street in town. Do the Parking wardens take the time to look for the Reg and WOF tickets or just have a quick look and slap a fine on if they can not find it?

I am happy to move the WOF ticket to a more easy to find place but bikes can be difficult to find good places to put them so they don´t make the bike look silly but at the same time are easy enough to find.

Any thoughts would be great.

I stick the rego on the top of the tail bit with double sided tape. It's in full view. Any half wit can see it.

The WOF is in a little clippy thingy which is attached to the back of the number plate. I have it on sideways so that a bit of it pokes out and can be seen.

No tickets so far.

As I recall ... the wording is "in plain view" ... Parking wardens are such busy people, they have no time (nor inclination) to look in any other possible places.
The offence is "Not displaying the labels" ...

Down here the WOF is in my jacket pocket.

And the rego label is under the front of the petrol-tank where it is almost out of sight. (and tidy)

We don't allow traffic-nazis down here.

I recall reading somewhere (cant remember where, was maybe road code, or wof guidelines - was to the effect of outlining how it should be dislplayed)
anyway what I remember reading was that on a motorcycle, the wof and rego must be as close as practical to the number plate.

Ive had bike shops do warrants, and lift the passenger seat, and stick the wof sticker to the subframe under the seat.

If you happen to get caught out, a photo showing the current rego slip/wof sticker displayed on the bike, near the plate, along with a quote and a reference to the aforementioned guidelines, the ticket should be retracted.

I did this once a few years back, and they wrote back and apologized - I had a rant about wardens being too much of a lazy cunt to actually look for them, and how it was a waste of their time and mine having overzealous ticket issuing morons that are too lazy to lean over and use their eyes

All my bikes have had the WOF ticket tucked behind the plate,
My rego is usually either in the same place or on the chain guard, although my OLD Rego ticket is still on the bike, the New one is in my wallet still...
Anyways, I wouldnt worry too much if you happen to get a ticket, just take a photo and email it onto them and explain that the Meter maid has just mistakenly ticketed you.

Remember that having an out of date wof or label on display is still an offense.

I have been ticketed for not showing a valid WOF, when it was behind the plate and current while on company work. Rang council, they told me to write in and I refused, telling them I'm not having incompetent council workers wasting my time (or the company - and boss wasn't amused), but I would email them a photo instead.

They never actually apologised, but did cancel the ticket. One moron takes a minute to screw up, takes me an hour on the phone, photographing bike, emailing etc. Lovely.

As someone has said, the labels should be affixed as near as practicable to the licence plate, the back seems most obvious to me.

For goodness man, I told anyone that would listen that giving the southerners internet would be a bad move. On a positive note, I am trying to get your laws changed, to stop you lot running around nekkid and rooting sheep.

I got a ticket for "No evidence of inspection" and rego not displayed in the prescribed manner a couple weeks ago.
My wof and rego holders are bolted to the back of the number plate with about 1/2 of each sticking out the bottom of the number plate.

They were a little dirty but you can see they are there and it only takes a couple seconds to check if they're valid or not.

I wrote in with photos and they replied saying "The warden was correct in issuing the tickets .... blah blah blah.. But we will treat this as a warning and no payment is required"
