Ah I remember the old days when the Black rego plates were made with a space on the right side to apply the rego sticker. Obviously some cock forgot to think about this when designing the white plates.

Square ones are still around, a lot of new scooters get them. I remember needing a new plate and the VTNZ only had a batch of square, so they rang around and I went to another branch. I broke the rectangular one in half, last thing I needed was a bigger plate

haha I did the same thing, best mod I ever did to my old cbr600. I snapped the ugly square thing in half, and went into VTNZ "oh, some cunt broke me plate, gizza a new one eh?"

Remember that having an out of date wof or label on display is still an offense.

I have been ticketed for not showing a valid WOF, when it was behind the plate and current while on company work. Rang council, they told me to write in and I refused, telling them I'm not having incompetent council workers wasting my time (or the company - and boss wasn't amused), but I would email them a photo instead.

They never actually apologised, but did cancel the ticket. One moron takes a minute to screw up, takes me an hour on the phone, photographing bike, emailing etc. Lovely.

As someone has said, the labels should be affixed as near as practicable to the licence plate, the back seems most obvious to me.

That's where my WoF and Rego are, seems the only place to put them.

I got a ticket for "No evidence of inspection" and rego not displayed in the prescribed manner a couple weeks ago.
My wof and rego holders are bolted to the back of the number plate with about 1/2 of each sticking out the bottom of the number plate.

They were a little dirty but you can see they are there and it only takes a couple seconds to check if they're valid or not.

I wrote in with photos and they replied saying "The warden was correct in issuing the tickets .... blah blah blah.. But we will treat this as a warning and no payment is required"

Just go in to somewhere that does rego and they should be able to give you some. failing that, double sided tape. its what my work supplies. NZTA issued even.

You get the double sided sticky's from the Post shops ... FREE ...

No rego label I have ever bought ... anywhere ... has had a sticky side.

Just finished making my tail tidy and brake light indicator conversion. Total cost $87 including electricals. I put the rego above the light but im not sure ill leave it there.

The Rego label doesn't need to be lit up. If stopped ... a Cop/parking wardens torch easily shows it up. Only the Plate needs to be lit.

Its not the 5 clear leds are at the bottom facing the number plate. Its the camera flash. Rego label reflects the flash.

Im trying to work out if I should leave everything where it is or cut the numberplate a bit and move it up with the light. Put the rego in a different spot. The problem is the plate would overlap the exaust ends unless I cut it down.

Remember that any altering of the plate, cutting it down etc, is not allowed, so you could get yourself a fine for your efforts.

You will have to put a reflector on your plate or under/above the tail light or you will fail your next WOF, (if they are really anal)

I used a roll of DOT approved safety reflective tape, white and red. I just cut it down so it was a 5mm wide red strip that runs along the bottom of the number plate, I made sure it says the Dot standard number etc, have never had an issue with it.

Otherwise you can buy a reflector from repco cheap as chips.
