If you don't have the budget for newish then my old one is on TM. Owner took panels off so look a bit gruff, but still has them

Is a sound bike, I only sold it when I fell in love with a newer GG300. Bargain price & he hardly rode it.
Parts are easy & of course can buy new ones in most citys, not sure why people think they are harder to find parts for.
The GG is better suited in my opinion for shorter riders. I'm 5'8" & cope fine. Guy who bought my bike was shorter. Generations ahead of the KDX & I prefered to the KTM, but I've only ridden older ones.

He's the only one I've got.
nope. .

Actually I will add that I dropped the rear of my 200 ~10-20mm by making some offset bushes that slipped into the dogbones (easy to reverse) & dropped the forks down as much as would go. Can't do that easily on the KTM.
On my 300 as I'm more confident i didn't bother, but I don't run heaps of preload at the rear which is recommended on some GG set up sites so I followed the advice & handles great. (ie: still in realms of normal just on the lesser scale).

I beg to differ...
X-Bushing
Ahh, that's a good idea. Bit spendy, so $80 & another $30 for the bolt convert to US & Freight. Still, not too bad really. I just made some offset bushes on the lathe.

Sorry, its in Wainui & I don't have much spare time. It was pretty good when I sold it & he has hardly ridden it. the only odd thing was he took off all the bodywork to clean it all & hasn't put it back fully. Give him a call.

Bit of a bump here.
How would someone 6ft2, and around 110kgs go on a KTM 200?
Is my fat ass to much for a smaller capacity bike like this, and be better off on a 250/300?
Would class myself as in between beginner and intermediate on the riding skills scale if that makes any difference.
In Christchurch if you want to talk Gas Gas then you could go see our local enthusiast and dealer Linton at Dirt Action Services in Saxon Street.
You could see how big he is and which ones he rides for starters... but go when you have some time to burn as once you get him started the conversation line may grow and grow.
EDIT: sorry last poster asked about KTM, op mentioned Gas Gas. Linton might still be good to talk to though.
