I don't think he's being smart,i'm wondering the same,do you need compressed air i.e a compressor to get the table lifted?

If its the same as the one in the link then its standard hydrolic ram,and even tho they say 800lbs they are really only suited to light weight bikes less than 200kg and needs to be reinforced to stop the rear plate from sagging too much as you will see in the photo where the black angel line is at the rear of the lifter Click image for larger version.

Yes, I certainly wasn't being smart.

You have provided a link on trademe showing a hydraulic bench.

Perhaps you should research the difference between hydraulic and pneumatic.

(Ok, so now I am being smart).

Hydraulic implies pushing a fluid around usually with a pump which can be manual like a floor jack or workshop press etc: OR a driven system / like a digger ram or car hoist , forklift mast etc:
It has NO AIR in the system.

Pnuematic is air driven or operated only

Then theres air over oil (just to be confusing) which is an air operated system that also has oil in it.

The wayco is air over oil , it is operated with compressed air, the the system does contain some oil.
