    Crf250l

Looks good, specs are good, weight isn't!
    147kg wet!
    That's only about 5kg less than a DR650!

No, no. I can't let you get away with that! I know you love the DR but it's 166 kg vs 147 kg for the Honda. 19 kg diff. Both kerb/curb weights, not wet weights. Not a Honda fan. Just a bit fanatical about bike weights. Now retreating to bunker to weather flak from irate DR owners.

Mine weighed 155kg with 9L of petrol. Transalpers was slightly heavier as he had saddlebags on at the time.

That's interesting. That would make your kerb weight around 149 kg which is a hell of a lot less than Suzuki's number. Lot's of CF and titanium on your bike? Wonder how much weight is in the original steel tank assuming you have replaced it with plastic? Good work if you and TA have managed to shed 17 kg assuming Suzuki's 166 kg figure is not wildly inaccurate.

Edit: I think I am mistaken. Some googling indicates that the DR weighs 166 kg with a full tank. For some reason I thought motorcycle kerb weights were without fuel. Your 155 kg seems more realistic if the stock wet = kerb weight is 166 kg.

Sad news for me was I thought my 690 weighed almost the same as my DRZ but it seems it's actually about 9 kg heavier comparing wet = full tank = kerb weights: DRZ 138 kg, KTM ~147 kg.

I understood dry weight of the DR was 147kg as per the manual which came with the bike and this http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/mod...dr650se 00.htm which then says wet weight is 162kg. That's about right with a few litres of oil and 13 litres of petrol. Ours feels like a 147kg bike compared to our lighter bikes.

I was looking forward to a racy Honda 250 (not 230 as per your header Nordie) but at 147kg no thanks.
    Cheers

166 kg is what Suzuki NZ have on their web site and lots of other sites I have seen say around 366 lbs (=166 kg) wet for the DR.

Yeah, 147 kg for a 250 is pretty porky. 9 kg more than a DRZ400!
