The cbr250rr is an excellent bike. Was my first bike and I've still got it. Find a set of really tight twisties and you can really show the bigger bikes the way. This bike with its standard suspension and in overall moderate condition with pilotpower rubber stays glued to the road like nothing else.

More appropriately, the question should be "Why don't I want a two stroke."

The cbr250's are known for a solid motor. How many k's is that bike reading out of curiosity?

who knows bro, if its a trade in etc.. who knows. I bet it will last your period of ownership. They had cam driven gears and pretty reliable wee motors. maybe someone in your area can go with you if they know what they're on about.. motors should be pretty quiet, and a bit like a sewing machine or drill as you rev it up.

does it look tidy? if it looks like its been knocked around, scratches, chips, etc wear and tear on painted or metal parts.. then it might have had a hard life. if it looks like new it might have been cared for or pretty low kms..

    good luck

Not sure why you are discounting 2 strokes. A bike that age will need a similar amount of maintenance as a 2T and the 2T is much easier to find parts for and will cost less if something goes bang.

    And they are 20hp more

I'd be getting a cbr250r for more like 2,500-2,700 bro.. not 5k thats too much. unless the dealer is offering u some sort of 12 month full on warranty or something for that price.

if u wanna spend like 5-6k get a 2 stroke for sure

yeah it is very expensive aye, it would come with 6 months wof, 3000km insurance and 3 months rego - never really looked at 2 strokes, why are they better?
