problem is that Craig has to miss Puke Clubdays (3rd sundays of the month as they use their medic crew) and duck shooting opening, (very big in rural communites)

so that leaves the last weekend in april, and Mr MC have run this date for about 4 years that they have run the maize paddocks, it has clashed with the schools a few times because of this, but you have a small window to use the maize paddocks,

as for the limestone ride, it is a bit later than normal, but wiht a change of shop running it, (after full throttle closed in dec) the same issues come out,
    Oh story of my life,

With road, track, MTB and dirt, ducks, deer and other fluffy things. Then with work leaving me a Sunday something has to give.
You will find there is always two things on at the same time.

Don't have a go at the organizers just pick one and "ride like you stole It". They do their best and should be thanked.

Yes its a pain trying to schedule and we realise maize racing has a small window.
Try having to work in with the diffrent forestry events and operations as well

Hunting takes up June to the end of Sept and they get priority during the prime riding season in our area as we are not allowed to have rides in the southern blocks as thats for club events like Waitemata MCC.

Any off topic and a subject that will we will long be banging heads about.

agree with you on that, every organiser has their local conditions to meet, and groups to work around, its a game taht sometimes you just cant win,

Um, isn't it great that we have a choice of so many (obviously popluar) events to go to?

These are even advertised and there will be another one along in a week or 2 if you can't make your prime choice this weekend.

Try finding out about the road-racing events, it's like it's a f*&king secret and spectators are treated like a bloody nuisance. When Kevin Schwantz (ask your dad) turned up 2-3 years ago to thrash a Norton around Pukekohe I saw that on an Aussie site I visited for something else and it just caught my eye. No NZ sites had mention of it at all ffs! You'd think, with all the recent moaning, that circuits would want to get the punters in at $20 for the day and grab a slice of the coffee & burger action, maybe even have their own stall for tees, caps, etc - but no, money comes from the entries and screw the spectators cos they walk around & get in the way.

I'm planning on taking Mr 9 & Mr 6 around the farm loop a few times and will even try not to get stuck in the car park this year (by parking nearer the gate). Note to the gate/parking marshals: a front-wheel drive car towing a trailer can't get up grassy/sandy hills very well.

Tony I wasnt making any point other then that theres quite a few rides on the same day.
Not the first time and wont be the last.
At the end of the day we can only do one ride on one day, so its up to the riders to decide which is the best one for them on that day.
Its 3 times a far for me to do Leytons farm, but its a much better rinde than limestone downs anyway ....
It "someone" hadnt broken there leg Im sure we would be there ....

Quite a bit of the first half of the beachrun was on Limestone, so the tracks were the same. It wasnt even rolling paddocks, it was just crappy, bumpy farm tracks.

My wallet pucker is in full force!!!

$35 adult and $20 for under $15, and no eftpos on site. $110 for me to take the spawn.... ouch.

(thats before travel costs, gas and oil for the bikes, food n drinks, hours on the bikes etc)

    Is there a family rate?

Yeah, know what you mean, it's about a $200 plus day for me and 2 sons. But it's a whole day and way more fun than going to the movies which is about $50 and only a couple hours. It's a similar cost for the likes of Rainbows End. I know what I'd rather do. Dollar spent per hour of entertainment, it's still a pretty ratio.
