Bikes on the trailer, pre-mix mixed, robbed a cash machine, cameras all ready.

I've asked the spawn several times if they have all of their gear ready and are getting answers that are making me grumpy!

Just had to bleed my brakes and I've put my new camera on my helmet. Should be good for some shits and giggles.

Do you guys record everything at 60fps? I got a 32g memory card so it should last the day....

EDIT got the frame rates wrong...

1080 at 30 frames. 32 gig card gets about 8.5 hours. A bit hungry. My battery only lasts 2.5 hours. I've tried 720 at 60 frames with this camera but watching it on the big screen, it doesn't look as good as 1080.

So, maybe we should have a farm lap all out camera race?
Could be fun to edit the footage?

Jolly Rooster was lots and lots of fun today. A bit too much tight forestry riding in the 40k loop for my liking (not that I have an issue with the riding, just the inevitable traffic and slow pace always boils my bike) but I made up for that by blatting around the farm loop 6 or 7 times.

Hope the people who needed medical attention are ok.

The spawn rode like squids! I had a couple of offs and are feeling it (my knee complains every time I go to get beer from fridge).

+1 for the sore peeps. I saw two who were not at all keen on moving.

The forestry bits were better than normal cos not too many roots were exposed (refer above offs!)

There was a good turnout, perhaps more farm tracks would be better as there were a lot of "novices" today.

    What a fantastic day.
Great trails, great expert bits, and the best hill climbs.

    Well done all involved.
    Now just need to recover.

A great day yesterday (470 riders) and thanks to all that punted around. A couple of ambo's and one of those is on the road to recovery with concussion.
Rach had an off but we haven't been able to speak to her yet although we have been trying to as not only do we like to ensure our riders are OK but is a requirement by law (DOL) that operators ascertain the condition of any injured riders within 24 hrs (I think, but Louise handles H&S).
Anyway she sounded healthy sucking on the laughing gas.

Yes, we would like more farm land but we can't afford the neighbouring 1200 acres. and I suppose it is a predominantly forestry ride with the farm loop as a bonus.

The big thing for us is that we spent today grading and reinstating the farm loop and its come up really well with minimum damage and hardly any litter especially in the car park paddock. Thanks Guys. This ensures that the landowner is happy and we get invited back again next year
So the next event is the first round of the 2 Man, June 3rd, up in the top blocks where we had Day one of the 2 day ride last year followed by a trail ride in the mid blocks, past The Sandpit, end of July.

The forestry riding was all good, just not enough outs or short road sections I could use to cool the bike down... bloody 4-strokes.... but you can only work with what you've got and I was having a whale of a time on the farm loop, so it's not like I didn't enjoy myself...

Mine was doing the same but only when we got stuck in traffic at the start, after that it was fine.
I have a fan kit ready to go in when the radiator gets fixed so that should sort that out.

Hope we get those good tracks for the 2-man.

I'd recommend a fan kit on any big bore 4 stroke for forest riding. I have one fitted to the Berg 390 and thats an Enduro bike. Since fitting it has not boiled once and thats doing stop starts sometimes every 20mtrs to arrow. Peace of mind.

Yes, farm loop is definitely in the last round. We have a few more fresh tracks not used for the forest section. Round one could be a bit more open than the previous years.

Actually what I would like to see is a long 1 lap race.
Like 150k enduro type event, I do get a bit sick of short laps (not that i do many) like that 40k loop was awesome.

Tarawera 100 is like that 100 miles 4 laps,

any longer than that and the gas range gets an issue, and its a logistcal nightmare to have fuel stops away from the main pits,

I might look at that this year (it clashed last year) but I'm not a fan of mass starts. I looks good unless you were that poor guy last year that lost it on that first little jump and had three bikes crash into him.

Is gas that hard? everyone puts a can on the trailer, trailer goes to set point, everyone fill up there.
But i do see your point. might give us with big tanks and advantage
