"A diesel spill on the motorway is causing delays.
The New Zealand Transport agency has advised caution this morning after the a diesel spill on Ngauranga Gorge.
The spill - stretching from the speed camera in Ngauranga Gorge to the Hutt exit - happened around 8am.
Delays are expected.
There are also delays on Aotea Quay as a result of a broken down car.
A spokesman for police central communications said the car had broken down in the southbound lane of Aotea Quay around 7.10 this morning.
A tow truck was removing the car but motorists should expect delays and traffic congestion in the area, he said"
