Nice. Is it legal, the blue lights?
Ride it until the wheels fall off...

Yes it is legal. As long as you can't see the bulbs and just the glow.

    Cosmetic lighting

If you want to use cosmetic lighting to make your vehicle stand out, take the time to get it right – and avoid hassles later on!

    Fitting requirements

Cosmetic lamps can be any colour as long as they meet the following requirements.
They must be angled downwards and fitted so that the light source isn’t directly visible from the front or back of the vehicle (this will prevent the lights distracting, confusing or dazzling other road users). See diagram below.
You must not be able to see any red light from directly in front of the vehicle.
They should only give off light that is spread out (diffuse) rather than light concentrated in a beam.
They must not be positioned close to essential lights such as headlights or indicators.
They must not flash, pulse, fade in and out or change colour.
They must not revolve, rotate or move in any direction.

You must not be able to see the light source (lamp) from anywhere in the shaded zone.

    On the road

It is against the law to use cosmetic lamps in a way that could dazzle, confuse or distract other road users.

Also, according to my 15 year old son (youngest) it's cool! and as he would know, it must be!

I purposely avoided red because of potential brake light type issues, but looks good all the same.

You shouldn't really be riding around with them on even if you can't see the red from the front. Although you couldn't really see the red from the front on that one.

I had a switch hidden under the lip of the seat. Wasn't visible unless you knew where to look.

Think it cost me about $30 and a bit of time to wire them in.

Mine was about $80 all up + my time. Switch is on the right hand side cover just under the seat.

What's the issue with riding with them on? According to LTSA website, all legal?

My time riding alone and with a club has taught me that the less attention you get, the easier it is to get away with murder.

Riding with anything but headlights may not get you plopped for the lights, but it might make some people take notice of your speed or exhausts SPL or even the odd bike skank who's gonna sit on it while you're in a pub.

You'd think so, but unless you're using your own product, them biker skanks get old real fast.

And the day one of them thinks it'll be fun to see if they can lift it off the side stand (while most likely intoxicated) will be the day you apply for a gun license.

Agree, the new headlight cowling does nothing for me. I reckon Suzuki dropped the ball big time on that one. Plus I love the black wheels & the batwing rear fender.

Now that's an idea, though I think they would carbon up quite quickly. Make it red like 'afterburner'!

I was thinking more a nice glow over the chrome exhaust , but yeah saw a car a few years ago that had leds in the exhaust , round the same time boy racers had under body neons on all their cars .Looked cool at night , but they flashed and would the heat kill them ?
