This is slightly worrying

My bike is registered as a 1987 GPX 250.

The model of my GPX is the EX250-F (88-07) although they started production in 87 which could explain why mine is registered as such.

When you do a parts search for a 1987 GPX 250 you get the EX250-E model (86-87).

Just had the bike in at the mechanics and it needs some small parts. They printed off a page showing the parts needed. At the top of the page - EX250-E2

Luckily the parts in question are the same as the ones in my bike but it does have me worried that if the parts were in fact different they would just go ahead and order them without checking it matches the model.

This could explain why I have always had troubles/arguments with a certain bike shop about the availability of parts.

Anyway of changing the year on my bike 2007 sounds good

with long term production bikes, often they make small changes throughout the year which can fuck things up a bit. theyll use leftover parts on the new model year when they are compatible etc etc, Ive had that before, its a bit cunty.
