Cool. It'll only take about an hour. As long as we're on the road before 7, because the rest of the crew won't get to the turn off until 8.15ish.
2 years ago the ice wasn't too bad on the road until over the hills towards Rangitaiki. The frozen fog was a bigger issue. Riding visor up into that crap at negative temps wasn't fun. I don't think it'll be quite that bad tomorrow. Light rain in Taradale at the mo.
Right, I'd better put down my beer and go sort some gear out.
If I remember rightly you looked rather cold covered in a layer of Ice at Rangitaiki. Metservice are saying it's down to 2.7 degrees at the moment in Taupo. http://www.metservice.com/towns-cities/taupo Forecast is -2 overnight. In 2010 it wasn't frosty in "taupo", but started to get frosty as soon as you started climbing out of Taupo on the Napier-taupo highway, and then into that lovely fog.
Enjoy yourselves, wish I could of made it this year.

In life as in dance Grace glides on blistered feet
Well, I had to pull out early. Right boot was getting covered in oil (fork seal) so figured I'd better head closer to home, not further away. Had an awesome day anyway. Found the limits of my $10 back tyre in the challenge section.
Sorry Matawai Hotel, but I'm sure someone will gladly take my bed and feed. The rest of you should be thankfull you haven't had to endure my legendary snoring.
Thanks Clint and Rosie.
I got a few photos, but it might be a couple of days before I get them sorted.

Pics to come when I get home, prolly on my thread
Well what can I say shit happens ( bugger ) I had been doing so well until now.
Arrived back in Palmy @ 6:45pm put the bike in the shed and unloaded it.
Got the bath running what could be better right.
Finally got my riding gear off.
Cancel the bath I think we are off to A&E 7:30pm
Well the good folks up at A&E pushed and prodded me shoulder and said that doesnt look good.
And then the questions what time did it happen I said about 10:00am the nurse said typical bloke wait for ages to come to the hospital
I said I only jut got back into town the long way round boy did I get a funny look.
So blood test Xrays 2 litres of fluids and they said you've busted your collar bone.
Busted me collar bone but I could already see that once I got me gear off.
No you busted it good its in 3 pieces you will have to come back and see the specialist next week.
Well its now just after 3:00am and just got home from the hospital.
Time for some tea
Drugs
Looks like I am walking for a while.
I just like to thank the Bay day riders for making sure I got down to the Bay OK
To Johnny for picking me up at the seen and to GPS Man for the offer of a ride home if I needed it.
Like I said if I had taken me jacket off I would never have gotten it back on again.
The helmet and gloves were bad enough
Hope the rest of you enjoyed the ride.
See you out there sooner rather than later if I get my way.
GSers
WOW, I thought it was broken, but, not that bad
Glad you made it home safe....I still think you should have taken me up on the ride home

I'm going to start calling you Stephen...."You know who you are"... One tough bloke!
