(Since 96) Some years not at all and even a few years on the trot. A couple of years ago I was pulled over (on the bike) twice within 14 weeks for speeding more than 40 kph over the limit (only had license back for a week before the second instant loss
). Then again about 13 weeks later for 15kph over the 90 kph limit for towing a trailer. Saw a lot of bus time between tickets. I didn't like it and quite rightly blamed the police for being wankers.
[edit - may as well do them all - approx 50]
Starting at the start.
First 6 months riding a bike (mid 70's) I got pulled over 8 times. Once for failing to stop at a stop sign, three times for speeding, once for riding no hands, twice for reckless riding (wheelstands), once for no hands (using feet on handle bars). Got one speeding ticket and let off with warnings the other 7 times. About a year later in a car I got a DUI after a minor fender bender.
Off to Oz then
Car - hit two drunks when they ran out in front of me at an intersection (no ticket). Car - dangerous (weaving) driving and speeding (loss of license two or three months). Car - Mooning out window while stopped at lights (no charges). Bike - speeding got ticket. Bike - DIC or DUI? (can't remember). Bike - speeding at in excess of 160kph with bald front tire, expired license and no rego (let off as I would have got in too much trouble).
Back to NZ late 1980 - 95ish
Cars - At least a couple of dozen times for breath tests (close but no more fails). Cars - A couple of times for speeding (got small fines). Car - Reckless driving while trying to run from cops (mailed me the ticket and summons after they (x3) lost the stand off in my front yard - I however lost my license for 2 or 3 months anyway). .... back to the top.
Political correctness: a doctrine which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.
