finding out a few things about em , come across a problem that is the Flywheel Magnets coming off

I've also read the same thing on the SV forums but heard that it is very very rare. Infact, I can only recall hearing that this happened to one bike! These bikes are pretty bullet proof and if you get one that's been well maintained I'm sure you'll have no problems with it.

Just about to pull mine down and inspect the rotor magnets on mine due to an increase of vibration over the last little while. There are 3 known (but rare) issues with the motors being

1: Rotor shedding the magnets. This is starting to occur a little more frequently although on the 3 SV specific forums I'm on (+ this one) there are only 6 - 8 current incidence worldwide. No one cause of this has been proposed or linked to this.

2: A very few incidence of the main crank nut working loose (or not being tightened full at manufacture)

3: Clutch "Chudder" which is a combination of chattering and shuddering through the Back Torque Limiter on the clutch basket. Slightly more common but easily identifiable and repairable.

The more common issues are more to do with the "Green Connector" which carries the main power from the battery to the right switch block and comes down to the connector burning out due to current draw through it and is easily rectified.

Other than that a great bike that was hamstrung by accountants and built using cheaper parts leading to its eventual demise.
Thought for the day: Some people are like Slinkies - not really good for anything but they're funny when they're pushed down the stairs. Also: Who picks up guide dog shit?
