Who is this and where are they?

This photograph has been sitting at my local library in Porirua for months, waiting to be reunited with someone. It was found inside a book called "The 10pm Question". It so reminds me of my youth spent shuffling around Dave Whittaker Honda in Hastings that I thought I would see if anyone on here could help with identification of the subjects and venue. I'm also curious about how long it took the MVX to seize, spit the young fulla off and erase the smile

Is the reflection in the window the old police headquaters on Taranaki St?

The distinctive arch in the reflection in the window may help identify the location.

    Love the ginga's mo!

    Mt Cook Barracks? No.

I don't believe it is in Wellington.

Can't picture it. Was a Honda shop on Taranaki St? I only remember Sawyers up Adelaide Rd.

It's got to be around 84ish. I need some of that photo aging technology (like in CSI) to see if the ginger mo geeza is my mate Fatboy curently living in Napier. That would be too much of a coincidence.

I've been wrong many times before...but I thought there was years ago. I know there was also one on Cambridge Tce many moons ago. They were selling MVX's then too!

    Basil Fawlty liked Honda's.
    Who would of thunk?

(First glance had me thinking it was Eades Honda in Wangavegas).

Sure does look like it dude, nice spotting. The old man used to work at Magnus on the corner. Still love the Green Parrot.

I'm a bit lost looking at that. The Honda shop I bought my CB500 from in about '72 was somewhere near the waterfront, Wakefield Street?
