    1972 Suzuki A50

    Hi

    I have just got a Suzuki A50 and I am looking for a bit of help,

    does anyone know how to set the carb up right? it runs well but wont idle

    does anyone out there haveva service guide? i need a loom diagram to work out why the right indocator isn't working

    Pilot jets blocked. They are tiny.....

    +1 for the pilot jet. Also check the float level - sorry I no longer have a service manual to tell you the correct setting.

    I guess that isn't the sort of check I can do with the carb on the bike... oh well... i guess for now i will live with a push start from the lights till i get to restoring it, however if anyone out there has a service manual that would be really really fantastic

    Its a simple job to whip the carb off and give it a clean up. Also check the air filter.

    +3 for pilot jet, but as an aside from faded memory there is a screw sticking up from the side cover that adjusts idle, but take the cover off & the rubber bung in the casing to the side of the carb & poke a screwdriver through which will release the carb.

    Any time sitting with crap old petrol will cause a block. Running it like this will cause a lean condition which is not a good thing. Cleaning it is easy, the pilot jet is the small one up the tube. Don't poke wire through it though, will ovalise it.
