What can you tell by smell while riding?

hey guys, its been a while! I was in Aussie land for past two weeks.

    Anyways,

in a cage, I can tell if something is wrong by smell. (burning clutch, tyre, coolant, etc etc). even at, lets say-around 100km/hr.

is this the case with the motorcycles too?

I was pretty sure the wind will blow the smell behind, before it gets into the helmet. especially at high speed.

but as I was riding (done about 300km today) in motorway around 100km/hr, I swear I smelt burning clutch as I was riding. then I thought instantly the above,, but I stopped to check anyway.

and the clutch lever DID came little bit lose and need some adjustments.

was this remarkable coincidence? maybe clutch burning from the car in front of me or I mistaken it with other things burning on country side town?

and most importantly, can you smell anything when you are on the bike if some thing goes wrong? (clutch, coolant etc etc) I was doing 100km/hr at the time.

    Thanks guys

ps: it is true what they say, riding does make me think all sorts of shits

I was going for a ride to Akaroa and going up the big hill i could smell coolant but my temp gauge read normal. 1.5km further up the hill i pass a caldina with steam pissing out from under the bonnet.

Tyres, clutch, coolant and electrics are easy to smell even at speed.
Im slowly getting better at determining where the oil spots on my driveway are coming from.

    1. That the club bike (ie... tank slapper/biker skank) needs to close her legs, cuz her breath smells.
    2. I need a shower
    3. The guy in front of me needs a shower
    4. I should probably let the guy in front know his stash of herb is coming loose.

    I smell a Rat !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

I'd be impressed if ya could smell a bike clutch, considering 95% of bikes have a wet clutch inside the motor

Going up steep hills you can almost always smell a diesel vehicle before you see them as you catch up.
