    Kidney Belts

I used to wear one when I went trail riding and wondered if anyone wore them on Adv bikes?

Does anyone wear one to give your back a bit more support? What about for pillions who don't see the pot holes etc coming so can't brace for the impact (or hang onto the bars to take a little weight off the back)?

I always wear my pressure suit which has one. i like the feeling of support it gives me- whether or not it does actually give me support is another thing. I feel naked without it on.

Silly question time - what is a pressure suit?

A full armour shirt thing with mesh joining up plastic armour pads. it's debatable whether they work with adv riding however I feel more confident riding with it on & that in itself is a positive. Wearing knee & elbow pads when mtbing also helps me extend my comfortl level on knarlier tracks.

    Heres a google image link

I always wear a kidney belt. I seem to have stretched the elastic a bit lately, but wouldn't be without it. Keeps my crooked back straight.

I don't get amoured up half as much as when I was doing offroad, but don't go anywhere without kidney belt, basic knee pads, and mx boots. Teeshirt and shorts are fine though.

Used to wear a kidney belt years ago when dirt riding, but not adv riding, its just not rough enough.

Also on longer rides the kidney belt squeezes my bladder too much therefore wee wee stops are way too frequent.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Cripes hadn't thought of that one!

I thought a kidney belt would help me sit straighter?

I have recently bought one and wear on it longer trips, well to be honest, its part of my 'very ride gear wear' now.
Got it to support my lower back (work related niggle) whilst riding.
I would often start to feel the discomfort within an hour or so.
The kidney belt helps immensely where thats concerned.

Thanks for all the replies :-)

If I can find my old one I will try it next time to see how comfy it is.
